Can go-karting improve employee retention and performance?

Recruitment agency Work Wales has found a novel way to improve the performance of their staff – go-karting.

Workers are regularly treated to activities and away days – paid for by the directors – if they hit their targets.

Speaking to Executive Grapevine, Sophie Benyamin, a Director at Work Wales, said these events improve productivity and foster a healthy sense of competition: “Doing things like this definitely motivates our team – they couldn’t wait to get back to the office to start building up more new accounts ready for the next event and it encourages everyone to work together to hit targets. Team events are something that are talked about daily in our office – we have a visual board which monitors progress and shows how close they are until the next team day out.”

This constant renewal of employee engagement has ensured that the company has a very low turnover of staff.
