Celebrity boss slams job applicant for having disabled son

A celebrity hotelier brutally told a mother that she could not have the job she had applied for because her severely disabled son would be a disruption.

André Balazs, who has several hotels, humiliated the candidate by stating her son would be a drain on her productivity.

Balazs owns the Standard hotel in the Meatpacking District of New York, Sunset Beach on Shelter Island and the famed Chateau Marmont in Hollywood. The heart-broken mother, Karen Anderson had applied for a job at Sunset Beach and was being given her final interview for a controller job.

During the interview, Anderson was asked about what her ideal job would be. Her response was her dream to run a nursing home. Mocking her, Balazs said: “Do you know how schizophrenic you sound? Did you hear yourself?”
