Spa days, free gym memberships and even a good Christmas party are all important when it comes to determining what makes a great boss, according to new research.
A survey conducted by MobileSlots.com has compiled a definitive list of attributes inherent to the perfect manager, including cocktail master classes and complimentary donuts. Surprisingly, employees’ tastes range from the extravagant to the simple, with the list containing more non-monetary incentives rather than outlandish requests.
Speaking to HR Grapevine, Howard Sloane, Group HR Director at Peel Ports, explained why having a good boss spurs on productivity. He said: “The many insights into leadership provided by some of the greatest thinkers on the planet point to one thing – get leadership right and you will increase productivity.
“Why? Well, it’s all about the climate that you create which will naturally lead to discretionary effort.”
