HR Director apologises after employee is filmed rubbing burger on floor

A video showing a restaurant employee smearing a burger on the floor, before placing it in a bun, has gone viral this week warranting a response from the company’s HR Director.

The incident, which took place in a Baltimore branch of the fast food chain Checkers, was posted on Facebook on Tuesday. By Thursday morning it garnered more than 500,000 views and a flurry of media attention. In response, Checkers was forced to release a video of their own, in which Lori Malcolm, Senior Vice President of HR, expresses her disgust at what the employee did.

According to Malcolm, the incident occurred several weeks ago and the burger was never served to a customer.
