Top tips for helping employees overcome the post-holiday blues

The summer months can be a difficult time for employees, some maybe experiencing post-holiday blues, while others may be feeling stressed from covering additional workloads.  Here at Wider Plan, we have some great tips to help you support employees through the summer months.  

        1. Prolong the relaxed holiday feeling

Holidays are a great way to relax and unwind.  As stress is the leading causes of sickness absence, it is important for employers to help employees focus on their own wellbeing.  Employee health portals, such as Wider Wellbeing, enable employees to take charge of their own wellness. The employee is able to track their progress, promoting ongoing participation and consequently prolonging the relaxed holiday feeling once employees return to work.

As an employer, you can also help employees manage stress by providing an Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs).  Providing confidential advice and guidance, an EAP can prevent issues developing and impacting staff attendance.
