HR must 'take action' to tackle racism at work

A new survey has launched targeting racism in the workplace.

Business in the Community, a charity who fights discrimination in employment, wants to hear from over 10,000 ethnic minority and white employees on issues such as race, prejudice and bias in the workplace.

In the UK today, ethnic minorities are under-represented at every level of work. 13% of the population are from an ethnic minority background, but only one in 16 top management positions are held by an ethnic minority person.

Speaking to HR Grapevine, Sandra Kerr OBE, Race Equality Director for Business in the Community, explained what HR can do to encourage employees to talk about race in the workplace.
