What can HR do to promote employee wellbeing?

More than one in three office workers are too busy to take time out for health and wellbeing activities, according to research.

On top of this, nearly one in ten (nine per cent) do not exercise at all.

Mental health and wellbeing is also suffering. Over half admitted to spending no time at all on mental wellbeing activities such as practising mindfulness, meditation, or other stress relieving activities.

Speaking to HR Grapevine, Caroline Bendelow, People and Performance Director at Age UK, who carried out the research alongside Bupa, says wellbeing requires refocusing from HR: “When you look at holistic wellbeing, this includes your organisational and environmental wellbeing, which has a massive impact on individuals.
