Twitter under fire for hosting office frat party

Twitter has come under fire once again this week as the social media giant has been forced to apologise for hosting a “frat party” amid rumours of gender bias.

A company employee posted pictures of a celebration, including a beer pong table, kegs and red plastic cups,  alongside the comment: “Silicon Valley US: @Twitter is having a #Frat party for employees. #Lovwhereyouwork #diversitymatters #brogrammers.”

The tweet has caused controversy, with some accusing the company of perpetuating a male dominated culture associated with American Fraternity Houses.

The photo spread quickly across social media, drawing the attention of Deanna Kosaraju, CEO and founder of Global Tech Women, who commented: “They got caught with their pants down.”
