BT Sport launches pub industry female mentoring programme

BT Sport has launched a new mentoring programme in hope of recognising and developing female talent in the pub industry.

The innovative scheme will consist of senior executives from around the industry, imparting their knowledge to the future generation of sector leaders.  The programme will run over the course of a year.

With women only making up 18% of the pub company boards, there is a major imbalance which is evident throughout the sector. Emma Causer, BT Commercial Account Director, developed the scheme with the hope to drive the next generation of talented women to fulfil their potential.

She said: “This mentoring programme is groundbreaking for females within the sector and will shine a spotlight on the pub industry. We hope it will encourage more highly focused and talented females to progress onto company boards having been mentored by some of the best leaders in the industry.”
