Balderton appoint Talent Director from Amazon

London-based venture capital firm Balderton have hired the former recruitment lead for Amazon as their new Talent Director.

Gilles Stephan will be in charge of the company’s talent team. His responsibilities will include generating candidates, raising employer branding, developing internal talent and using events to nurture a talent focused community.

At Amazon, Stephan was European Talent Acquisition Director until October of 2014 when he was promoted to EU Head of Next Generation Leaders.

Stephan commented: “We are creating an environment for our portfolio companies to receive the comprehensive support they need to build a perfect team. If a company succeeds, usually a lot of that success is because of their unique skills, capabilities and passion. Having the right talent in your team is the cornerstone of that.”
