Pregnant woman sacked after refusing boss' call for abortion

A pregnant woman was sacked from her charity fundraising job after refusing her boss’ request that she have an abortion.

Teri Cumlin, 22, said she was left in tears after her Manager Mark Robertson put pressure on her to terminate her pregnancy.

Her former company, Engage Fundraising, was found guilty of unfair dismissal and ordered to pay Cumlin £12,000 compensation.

The tribunal had originally been held in May but the judgement was not released until last week.
