Already known as a top employer, Google again showed its caring side this week, after the multinational company sent out a condolence letter to a potential employee after learning of his sister’s death.
The candidate, known only as Peter writing under the Reddit handle “britishwookie”, was scheduled to have a phone interview with the internet giant, but sadly had to decline to deal with the loss of his sibling. When Google found out the reason for the candidates absence, they delivered a hand written message.
After receiving the heart-warming letter, “britishwookie” took to Reddit to showcase his surprise and gratitude, posting: “During the interview process at Google my sister died. They sent this in the mail. I'm truly touched by the gesture.”
The letter reads: “An email just didn't suffice when we heard of you and your family's loss. I hope you know we are sincerely sending our most comforting thoughts your way in this difficult time. I hope you feel surrounded by much love.”
