Wal-Mart ditch Celine Dion and Justin Bieber in pursuit of employee happiness

The never-ending loop of Celine Dion and Justin Bieber is finally over for Wal-Mart workers.

At the retailers AGM executives announced a list of changes in the hope of boosting employee morale, with the biggest cheer accompanying the announcement that a CD which has been on loop in stores for months will finally be discarded.

According to The Washington Post, executive vice-president Mike Moore gave a speech to workers with a puppet character called Willie. When asked by Moore why the CD was being scrapped, Willie said: “One of my fellow associates recently developed a serious eye-tic from hearing Celine Dion’s greatest hits on loop in our stores.” Justin Beieber was also a prominent on the CD, which will be replaced by Wal-Mart Radio, where a DJ will spin tunes to be played throughout the stores.

Starting July 1st, workers at Wal-Mart will be allowed to wear black denim or khaki, while those who work more laborious jobs will be allowed to wear t-shirts and blue jeans. Wal-Mart is also adjusting the temperature in its stores after complaints that it can be too cold in winter and too hot in summer.
