Dog Walkers earn more than teachers, nurses and police officers

Dog walkers earn an average of £26,496 a year, taking home more than police, nurses and teachers, according to research conducted by Direct Line Pet Insurance.

With the average starting salary of nurses at £21,478, newly qualified teachers on £24,200 and police officers at £23,217, dog walkers are leaps and bounds ahead, charging upwards of £11.50 an hour per dog.

It seems that London dog owners pay the most, with Midlands second and the North West third, where dog walkers can take home £10,000 above the UK annual salary. According to the survey, some walkers are earning £32,256 per year, based on a charge of £14 per hour per dog, walking 192 dogs for an hour every month.
