Deadliest jobs in America revealed

What is America’s deadliest job? In a country where guns are legal, one’s first thought would spring to police officer, but in fact those under the employ of America’s arm of the law are more likely to die in vehicle accidents than through violence.

America’s most dangerous occupation is actually fisherman, with 132 workers dying per 100,000 people employed between 2006 and 2013. Garbage men and women of America work in the second most lethal profession, with transportation accidents making up most of the fatalities.

Taxi drivers, which came third in the list, are most likely to die from violence, giving the Travis Bickle stereotype of a gun-wielding taxi driver some foundation.
