Hearse drivers fired after stopping off for a donut

 

Two hearse drivers have been dismissed after pulling in at a donut shop with a flag-draped coffin in the vehicle. The Florida pair were on their way to a funeral, and an outraged man, Rob Carpenter, sent a video to a local veterans group.

The departed was Lieutenant Jesse Coleman, a decorated soldier who served one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. The hearse was travelling from Veterans Funeral Care to his funeral.

Carpenter, whose father served in the military, said: “"I'm like, 'Is this really a body in here?' and he said, 'Yes,' and I said, 'So you have a dead soldier in the back of your hearse and you're stopping to get coffee?' And he didn't say anything.
