Working class actors earning £10,000 less than middle class peers

Working class actors are earning £10,000 less on average than their middle class peers, new research has shown.

The study by Goldmsiths University and London School of Economics surveyed 400 actors and found that just ten per cent came from working class backgrounds while 73% had parents in professional or managerial jobs.

The remaining participants were grouped under the National Statistics Socio-Economic Classification as having clerical, sales, service or lower supervisory and technical jobs.
