
The founder of Britain’s first new bank in more than a century has insisted that customers want to deal with humans instead of machines.
The owner of Metro Bank, Vernon Hill, spoke out against his rivals and said cost-cutting, not the needs of the customer, is at the heart of the increasing presence of machines in branches.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Hill says: “The big five banks have been running a cartel here for years – they have overcharged and underserved their customers, while massively underinvesting in their businesses.
