Workers wake up to employment termination

 

Most workers dread the maddening morning buzz of their alarm, but Tullis Russell workers recently woke up to something worse; a phone call terminating their employment.

The method used by Tullis Russell’s HR department has attracted criticism, specifically from trade union Unite, but with losses racking up to £18.5million for the Fife-based paper making firm, and an impending administration, they were left with little choice but to wield the axe.
