Aldi worker boosts shop's employer brand after going extra mile for elderly customer

Amidst stories of Halfords employees taking joyrides in customer cars, and a McDonald’s worker wrecking a restaurant in a rage, an Aldi stock assistant has shown what a sense of compassion can do for an employer brand after walking home an elderly customer.

Christian Trouesdale, an employee at the company's store in Horwich, Greater Manchester, quickly became an internet hit on Friday after he was photographed helping a pensioner home, which has been shared over 60,000 times since then.

The photo, taken by Horwich resident Samantha-Jayne Brady, shows Trouesdale holding the man’s hand and shopping as he escorts the elderly shopper, who walks with a walking stick, home from the store.
