Britain's best employers to work for revealed

John Lewis comes out on top as the best place to work in Britain, according to a new survey.

A recent poll listing the best places to work in Britain has been released by the Human Resources firm Randstad, with department store John Lewis topping the list ahead of BMW and British Airways.

The survey looked at six main factors that workers look for when choosing an employer, determining the percentage of people citing each factor as most important. Salary and Benefits were considered the most important factor for workers at 20% with long-term job security following at 15%.

Other important factors include pleasant working atmosphere (eight per cent), good work-life balance (eight per cent), interesting job content (ten per cent) and convenient location (seven per cent).
