
Almost half of British employers are reluctant to hire obese job applicants, putting them at risk of discrimination claims, a survey has revealed.
A recent study by Employment Law specialist, Crossland Employment Solicitors, found that of the 1,000 participating employers, almost half admitted being less inclined to recruit an applicant at interview stage if they are obese.
The study showed that this was due to overweight workers being considered to be less productive and unable to play a full role within the business.
