'Stressed' Zayn Malik quits One Direction but it 'can affect everyone', experts warn

Zayn Malik, one fifth of pop sensation, One Direction has quit the band, less than a week after being signed off with stress.

Last week, Malik’s publicist, Simon Jones, told fans that the 22 year old X Factor success would be flying home from Asia where the band are currently part-way through a world tour.

Jones tweeted: "Zayn has signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta."
