
McDonald’s employees who have suffered severe burns in their workplace filed 28 health and safety complaints against the firm in 19 cities over the past two weeks, according to an announcement from a labour group.
The complaints were filed with the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration as well as state safety and health authorities and allege that most of the injuries occurred because of understaffing and the pressure to work fast.
In addition, it was revealed that after such injuries had occurred, the management often advised their staff to treat their burns with condiments as they lacked the first-aid supplies to treat the injuries.
