GCHQ: Staff 'Weakest Link' in cyber-attack risk

GCHQ is warning firms that their employees are the ‘weakest link in the security chain’ when it comes to cyber-attacks, according to The Telegraph.

The Government listening post has re-launched their ’10 Steps to Cyber Security’. Issued by CESG; Information Security for GCHQ, the security guide advises businesses on educating staff in “acceptable and secure use of the organisation’s systems”, and insists on monitoring user activity for anything unusual that could indicate an attack.

It goes on to recommend that employees should only use trusted Wi-Fi networks, and to avoid open public networks in coffee shops and cafes for example, unless special protections are installed.
