Animal charity recruiting 'moggy midwives'

An animal charity is on the hunt to recruit a pack of feline foster carers to look after the anticipated arrival of abandoned kittens and pregnant females expected over the forthcoming weeks as kitten season begins.

Wood Green Animal Charity in Godmanchester is hoping that a set of ‘moggy midwives’ will jump at the chance to offer a temporary home for cats who have recently had kittens or are just about to give birth, according to The Hunts Post.

Genevieve Samson, Fostering Development Officer at Wood Green, says: “This is the time of year when we start seeing cats which are very obviously pregnant and have been surrendered because an owner knows they can’t cope.
