'Sickie culture' a myth as presenteeism prevails

UK workers are not taking enough time off to recover from sickness, revealing a culture of ‘presenteeism’ a new study claims.

The survey by recruitment firm Office Angels showed that half of the 1,000 respondents said they are too worried about work to stay at home and get fully better.

Almost a third admitted they were troubled by the thought of the pressure on other colleagues to do their work, with young workers the most worried about the repercussions of being of work sick would bring.
