Recruit women spies from Mumsnet say MPs

More needs to be done to recruit mothers and middle-aged women into UK intelligence, such as using websites like Mumsnet, senior MPs have said.  

The Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) have released a report saying that while more than half of those in the civil service were women, only 37% in the intelligence agencies and there is an "untapped recruitment pool" for MI5, MI6 and GCHQ and only 19% reaching senior grades.

Labour MP Hazel Blears spoke to BBC's Woman's Hour, she said: "I personally want women to be attracted to a career in intelligence and to feel there is the prospect of real advancement.
