BBC spends 29% less on stars earning more than £100,000

The BBC has spent 29% less on top talent earning more than £100,000 a year in the past five years.

Spending on overall talent was reduced by 15%, from £221million to £188million, and the Oliver & Ohlbaum review said that the BBC has made "vast improvements" in managing talent pay.

The review said the spending cuts came as the BBC adopted a more relaxed approach to exclusivity, letting top stars go and paying less.
