Menopause ruining women's careers

The menopause is destroying women’s careers because employers ignore the medical condition faced by millions each year, according to campaigner and Government adviser Ros Altmann.

Altmann advises the Government on how to keep over-50s in the work place and told the Sunday Times that the menopause is still a taboo subject that means older women are being failed by employers.

The pensions and finance expert also said that some women with severe symptoms of the condition are being forced out of their jobs because they are viewed as incompetent - because the menopause is just ‘not on the work radar’.
