Shop Direct cut 95 jobs as technology makes roles obsolete

Shop Direct has made redundancies to head office after implementing a new IT system which has rendered nearly 100 roles unnecessary.

The multi-brand retailer’s new IT system will result in the loss of 95 jobs by the end of June.

The digital asset management platform is part of Shop Direct's three year, £100million investment into ecommerce, data, personalisation and IT, and will allow the retailer to automate uploading products to their website.
