Apple to open new £628m centre and create 300 jobs in Ireland

Apple has announced plans to invest €1.7billion to build two new data centres creating hundreds of jobs in Ireland and Denmark, as part of its biggest European project to date.

The centres, based in Athenry, County Galway and Viborg, Denmark will include some of its "most advanced green building designs yet," both running entirely on renewable energy.

The technology giant's £628million investment in Ireland will help power services including the iTunes store, Maps and iMessage for European customers.
