Patricia Arquette, best supporting actress winner at last night’s Oscars, used her speech to call for equal pay for women.
Her comments come weeks after details of pay disparity between male and female actors in Hollywood were revealed in leaked emails, following the hack on Sony Pictures.
The star paid tribute to her “beautiful and powerful [fellow] nominees”, her cast and crew from Boyhood as well as her boyfriend Eric White before issuing her rallying cry.
