Childcare so expensive it 'does not pay to work'

Childcare is now so expensive that families would be better off if one parent gave up work to look after the children, a report has said.

The Family and Childcare Trust said in their annual Childcare Costs Survey2015 that “The reality is that for too many families it simply does not pay to work”.

It costs on average £115.45 to send a child under the age of two to nursery for 25 hours a week in Britain - total of £6,003 per year and a 5.1% increase on last year.
