Aer Lingus promotes company veteran as CEO

 

Aer Lingus, the Irish airline currently being pursued by British Airways owner IAG, has revealed that Stephen Kavanagh will become the firm’s new Chief Executive.

Kavanagh is the airline’s current Chief Strategy and Planning Officer and will begin his new position from March 1.

He replaces Christoph Mueller, the man credited with positively changing Aer Lingus’ fortunes, who is leaving to revitalise embattled Malaysia Airlines.
