Queen recruits staff for Balmoral Estate

The Queen is seeking "caring and positive" workers to run her private Scottish retreat, Balmoral.

The Balmoral Castle and Estate attracts over 70,000 visitors each year, and is open to the public from April to the end of July, before the annual summer arrival of the Royal Family.

Tourists help to pay nearly half of the estimated £3milion-a-year running costs of the 55,000 acre estate.

Maximising its potential, the estate is recruiting staff to work in the gift shops, coffee shop and exhibition areas, with a chance to live on the Royal estate, as advertised on the website: “Modern single room accommodation is available, if required.”

“We have a limited number of vacancies for Visitor Enterprise Assistants for the 2015 season,”

“Positions will be available from the end of March until August 2. Normally five days a week but we can be flexible.”

“Applicants must have a positive and caring attitude as well as a natural flair for customer service.”

“The successful applicants will be responsible to the Visitor Enterprises Manager in the first instance and will be required to work under his direction on any duties connected with the Visitor Enterprises.”
