EastEnders boss: I'd quit over ethnicity quota

EastEnders’ executive producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins, has warned he would quit should BBC bosses introduce a quota for representation of ethnic minorities.

Research conducted by the corporation last year found that Walford was twice as white as Walthamstow, the area of London from which the shows fictional setting takes its name.

Speaking to the RadioTimes, Treadwell-Collins said: “As soon as someone starts imposing editorial decisions, we fight back, because we know what we’re doing.”
