Companies consider genetic testing to attract top talent despite discrimination warning

 

A quarter of UK businesses  (24%) say they are likely to offer genetic screening as an extension of health screening in order to attract top talent.

However, the findings from Astellas Innovation Debate indicate that three quarters (76%) of those toying with the idea fear of legal repercussions is an inhibiting factor for employers

Baroness Helena Kennedy, QC, a panellist at the Astellas Innovation Debate Vice President of the Patients Association, and former Chair of the Human Genetics Commission commented on the findings.
