
Employees of the John Lewis Partnership are to receive £22million in a holiday pay windfall, following an Employment Appeal Tribunal ruling released in November.
The windfall in pay and pension contributions comes 18 months after 69,000 workers shared £40million in holiday back pay, after the retail group admitted it had miscalculated pay for seven years.
Previously in the UK, only basic pay counted when calculating holiday pay. However, under the European working time directive, regular overtime pay should be taken into account.
