Five minutes with: HR Director of JCT600

Katie Saunders, the new HR Director at JCT600 talks about the importance of developing strong relationships.

What do you think is the key to being a successful HR Director?

I think it's important to have a strong relationship with the operational side of the business and work in true partnership. For me, great HR is not about having a separate people strategy, but rather being so close to the business that people are an integral part of the corporate strategy, as is the case at JCT600. People are at the heart of every business decision, and at the end of every business issue is a person! I have never worked in isolation, but ensure that HR is knitted together with the business which means a high level of commercial awareness from the HRD and their team.
