Marissa Mayer refused to fire thousands of Yahoo staff, new book reveals

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer refused to fire 5,000 employees on three separate occasions, a new book has revealed.

Marissa Mayer and the Fight to Save Yahoo! covers Mayer’s stewardship from 2012, a time of struggle for the tech giant.

An excerpt published by Business Insider reveals that one of Meyer’s first meetings was with company executive, Jim Heckman, a top dealmaker for the interim management team that  preceded Mayer.
