'Scottish Independence could cause job losses' warns Babcock

Defence contractor Babcock has warned that the Scottish independence could lead to job losses for its Clyde-based workforce for.

The company released a statement saying it would be highly unlikely all existing naval support staff at Faslane and Coulport would be required if the country gained independence.

Currently, Babcock employs 4,750 people in Scotland however the company believes that it may be vulnerable to additional “risk and uncertainty” if Scotland gains independence.
