App company hires hacker after they beat security

The creators of Yo app, an app that does nothing more than send the word ‘Yo’ from one user to another, has hired one of the hackers that penetrated the system last week in a strategic move to increase security of the site.

Yo’s developer, Or Arbel said hiring a hacker was not just about increasing security but "improving Yo experience in other aspects as well". He continued: “We are also lucky because this hack and security breach is really highlighting what Yo is, and what we are all about."

The hackers were three students from Georgia Tech University were able to read personal data from the Yo database as well as push messages to users’ phones.
