Drunk and abusive: HR Managers reveal worst job interviewees

A survey of HR Directors from some of Australia's largest companies has revealed the worst things interviews that they have conducted.

As part of the Generation Success campaign, which aims to help the unemployed youth, HR managers were asked what to avoid when looking for work. The results found that things such as turning up intoxicated, swearing and being abusive candidates are amongst the worst they have encountered.

“When asked to describe a difficult situation and how he dealt with it, he told the interviewer of a difficult manager he had previously and the way he dealt with it was by telling her to ‘**** off!” one HR Manager said. “When asked if he thought he could have handled the situation differently the candidate responded ‘no’ and then in effect, told the interviewers the same.”
