Engagement and productivity of UK workforce lagging behind rest of world

Low employee engagement and productivity are the greatest challenges facing UK businesses according to new research.

The report from Right Management found that this was the key concern for almost one third (31%) of UK executives compared to a fifth (21%) of HR professionals globally.

The research surveyed 2,600 senior HR executives across 14 countries and found the UK’s concerns about staff engagement and productivity were in sharp contrast to other nations surveyed.

The only country with a higher level of pessimism was Belgium where 35% of professionals said it was their greatest challenge.
