One recruitment firm has revealed what may be the most macabre, extreme and just plain weird stunt ever pulled by an employer to boost staff morale.

Staffs is a South Korean agency determined to ensure that its employees will enjoy life. Not an easy task considering that the country has one of the highest suicide rates in the world. The tragic statistics are often attributed to the workers’ high stress levels and the constant complaint of presenteeism, the BBC reports.

But Staffs’ President, Park Chun-Woong, has found a way that he hopes can promote well-being for his employees, their families and the company as a whole. While other employers may settle for throwing their staff a Christmas party to improve morale, Chun-Woong had his employees stage their own funerals.

“Our company has always encouraged employees to change their old ways of thinking, but it was hard to bring out any real difference,” Chun-Woong told the BBC.
