
Recruiters are making flawed judgements about a candidate’s personality based on what they read in their application, according to a study by an American university.
Wright State University found that on five key personality areas, hiring managers drew the wrong conclusions about candidates - with a huge potential impact on their chances of securing an interview.
The findings revealed that the recruiters were bad judges of character and they tended to rate people higher than they really were in extroversion and lower in conscientiousness than the reality.
