
Barclays is to launch a new apprenticeship scheme for over 50s, offering older workers the chance to start a new career in banking.
The entry level positions, set to be advertised over the summer, are expected to be filled by those with transferable skills such as former maths teachers and accountants, who will be expected to work their way from the bottom up.
But, speaking to The Sunday Times Mike Thompson, Head of Apprenticeships, insisted successful applicants would be able to rise to the top of the company.
