CV lies could lead to 10 years in jail

Lying about the amount of time you’ve spent working at company could lead to time spent behind bars instead, a new guide from the fraud prevention service has warned.

Telling ‘white lies’ on CVs could lead to up to ten years spent behind bars in some of the most serious cases, under the Fraud Act 2006.

The warning came after figures revealed a sharp rise in employment-related fraud, which saw prosecutions rising by almost 60% in just 12 months.
