Four-day week would reduce sickness says top doctor

Britons should only work for four days a week to reduce their stress levels, a leading public health doctor has said.

Professor John Ashton, president of the Faculty of Public Health, said cutting the working week down to four days, would allow employees to take more exercise, see their families and "maybe reduce high blood pressure".

Speaking to The Guardian, Ashton said the UK is suffering from a “maldistribution of work”.
